| Introduction A four-course sequence on masterpieces of Western civilization, the Colloquium engages students in close, critical reading and small group discussions of selected works from the time of the Greeks to the present day. Students who complete the entire sequence may use their Great Books courses to satisfy the following five General Education requirements: Freshman Seminar, English Composition I and II (ENG 101 and 102), Religion and Culture (REL 301), and either Economic Principles (ECON 200) or American Political Process (POSC 200). In addition to the standard four-course sequence, Seaver College offers some elective Great-Books courses, including "Great Books V" and "The Collegium."
